Book Recommendation of the Week (Paranormalcy)

Hey guys, it’s Day 5. I originally planned on posting a review of A Part to Play by Jennifer L. Fry, but I haven’t finished it yet. I’m pretty close, but a few things have pushed back my reading schedule. I’ll probably be posting that review for my next “Day 5” instead.

Since I was unable to finish my review of APTP in time, and I feel I pretty much told you about my future ideas in my Day 3 post (Strawberry Sunrises), I’m going to recommend a book today.

My book recommendation of the week is….

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. Here’s my review on Goodreads.

Synopsis: Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.

But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

Date I Finished Reading: July 24, 2012.

Since it’s almost Halloween, I feel Paranormalcy is one of the best books I could choose for today’s recommendation. It involves supernatural beings and has a few spooky things going on. It’s also one of my favorite reads of the year (and I’m trying to read 200 books this year–I’m currently on 133 in case you were wondering).

Even if you’re not too big on YA paranormal stories, I still suggest you try it. I’m not too keen on YA paranormal either (well, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE paranormal, but it seems hard to find a good YA paranormal book!) and I loved this book. Evie is one main character that you probably won’t forget.

My question to you–does this book sound interesting? Why or why not? Do you think you’ll read it? Have you already read it? Did you like it, love it, hate it, or just think it was “meh”? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
